Our Story:
Everyone thinks its hard to face paint but we’re going to let you into a little secret…its really easy once you know the basics!
We Know What It’s Like To Learn How To Face Paint!

My friend Alice, and I (Gemma) learnt how to face paint when working at a farm park for kids over 10 years ago, we were both thrown in the deep end when one day we were both told that our job for that day was face painting. Before the gates opened to the visitors we were given brushes, paints, a guide book and and a 15 minute session on how to do it… great, these kids were going to start crying once they’d realized they were having their faces painted by amateurs. I remember the first face I did, it was a little boy (Jake a think his name was) who wanted to be a Lion, brilliant, the most complicated face to paint in the book. Ten minutes later the little boy walked off with his mum roaring like a Lion and was pleased as punch with his face. Even though it wasn’t as good as the face in the book it still looked OK, it wasn’t as hard as I thought and it only took a bit of practice to build my confidence.

Alice and I worked at the farm park for 7 yeas painting kids faces. Since then we have both painted at hundreds of kids parties and events. From day one we have always been asked “don’t you need to be artistic to learn face painting?” The answer to this question is NO! Anyone can face paint you just need to master the basics.

We thought it might be a good idea to show anyone, especially mums, how to do it for themselves for all kinds of parties and fun occasions which is why we started up the Face Painting Company and developed mini tutorials to show you how. All you need is the basic skills and a few ideas and from us – so round up the kids and get ready to have some fun! Cameras at the ready!
